This policy (together with our Website Terms and Conditions) and any other agreements set out the basis on which any personal data BSI collects from you, or that you provide to BSI, will be processed by BSI.
Personal information which BSI may collect about you:
You may provide information voluntarily to BSI or a designated service provider at the time of registering to use the website, subscription information for any of BSI’s services or products (including, without limitation, name, address, e-mail and credit card details) or any requests for further services. If you contact BSI (or any member of BSI’s group), BSI may keep a record of that contact. BSI may also keep a record and details of transactions you carry out through the website and of your visits to the website, including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for BSI billing or subscription purposes or otherwise, and the resources that you access whilst on the website. When you use the instant messaging service, BSI may additionally record information about your usage, the size of your contact list and any contacts you communicate with, the size and frequency of data transfers and any information displayed or clicked on the instant messaging interface. Storing your data:
The data that BSI collects from you may be transferred to, and stored inside or outside the European Union (EU), including the USA. It may also be processed by employees of the BSI group or BSI’s suppliers. This transfer, storage and processing is for the purpose of administering your account or the provision of products and services which you have requested. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing and processing. Use of your data:
BSI uses the personal data held about you: (1) to provide you with information, products or services that you request from BSI or which BSI feels may be of interest to you (where you have expressly consented to be contacted for such purposes when registering on this website and only in relation to information, products or services of the BSI group); (2) to carry out its obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and BSI (including, without limitation, administration or service activities in relation to your account); (3) to allow you to participate in interactive features of BSI’s services; (4) to notify you about changes to BSI’s services, terms and conditions, notices or website; or (5) to detect and prevent faults or breaches of BSI’s security network. On a regular basis, BSI deletes activity information associated with your account.
You will not receive direct marketing from companies outside the BSI group as a result of giving us your consent under (1) above. If we wish to allow a third party to send you direct marketing at any time we will in advance seek your consent before sharing your personal information with that third party. Whenever we send you direct marketing information about the BSI group’s products or services (usually by e-mail) we will tell you how you can unsubscribe from receiving such materials. You may change any personal details held by BSI at any time by contacting BSI at the above location or following the relevant links on the subscriber area of the website. BSI reserves the right to impose restrictions on such requests, including if required to do so by applicable laws or moral considerations.
Disclosing your data:
BSI may disclose your personal information to any member of its group, which means subsidiaries, affiliates or ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 736 of the UK Companies Act 1985 (the “Act”).
BSI will only disclose your personal information to third parties in the event that: (1) BSI sell any business or assets, in which case BSI may disclose your personal data to a prospective buyer of such business or assets; (2) BSI or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets; (3) BSI are required to disclose your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or to enforce its terms and conditions of use, or to protect the rights, property, or safety, of its employees, shareholders, directors, customers, or others. This may include exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction; (4) you subscribe to the text message alert service, other services or download software (under the BSI (UK) Limited’s Software License Agreement, Website Terms and Conditions and any additional Terms and Conditions), BSI may pass your mobile phone number or other personal data on to its group companies or other BSI designated third party service providers for the purposes of the provision of the requested service and/or administration of your account.
Note that further use and/or disclosure of your personal information by any third party provider is not the responsibility of BSI. Such use and/or disclosure will be governed by that provider’s own privacy policy.

BSI uses reasonable administrative, technical, personnel and physical measures to safeguard your personal information from any unauthorized access, use or disclosure and to ensure its security and confidentiality. You are responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of your username and password.
Access:
The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information BSI hold about you.
Updates:
The information in this notice reflects our current Privacy Policy. Any updates or amendments BSI may make to its Privacy Policy will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, will be notified to you by e-mail.
